Attorney for the Town of Sunman, Amy Streator, reported that the deed for the former ROD center has been recorded and she is waiting for the town’s copy to be returned. The information was provided at the regular October meeting for the town.

The council recommended that the utilities be turned off at the ROD property. The council also requests input from the community on their vision for the future of the site.

Bids for trash pickup were opened. Linkle bid $11.25 per unit; Rumpke bid $11.45 and Bestway bid $11.40. All bids will be taken under consideration until the November meeting.

Several businesses have taken advantage of grant funds through the Main Street program.

According to clerk/treasurer Kris Schneider, ETC will replace awnings; Great Finds will replace windows; a new door is planned for the Norman Group; the Sunman Legion is planning a blacktopping project; McPhersons is looking to replace awning and fencing and On Target plans to reseal and stripe the parking lot.

A pre-construction conference for Eastern Avenue was held on October 8. Surveyors will be marking the temporary right of way; Duke Energy will then move their poles, with Lykins to begin work on the water lines during the winter in order to complete the project in the spring.

All board members were in attendance. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, November 18 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Sunman Town Hall.
