Marilyn Joyce Moeller, 75, of Milan, passed away Monday, December 27, 2010. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 31, at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Cincinnati, Ohio, with burial immediately following. Memorials may be given to the Margaret Mary Hospice. Louis J. Norris, Jr.
Louis J. Norris, Jr., 89, of Milan, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at Laws-Carr-Moore Fu-neral Home, Milan. Dills-boro Masonic Lodge will have services at 7:15 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Shriners Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. John W. "Johnny Bill" Moeller
John Wm. Moeller, 80, of Greensburg, passed away on December 19, 2010. He was born on May 16, 1930, in Greensburg, the son of John L. and Dora Hellmich Moeller. He married Marilyn Niehoff on September 25, 1954 she survives.
Other survivors daughters, Jane (Mike) Smith of Greenwood, Karen (Jerome) Buening of St. Paul, Diane (Jeff) Burns of Greensburg, Nancy (Mike) Ernstes of Marietta, GA, Jan (Ed) Haskamp of Greensburg, Marsha (Randy) Proffitt of Columbus; son John David (Anita) of Greensburg; one brother, Norbert Moeller, Richmond; two sisters, Marita Cherry, Greensburg, Henrietta Carroll, Osgood; 19 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Walter, Maurice and Bob Moeller.
Mr. Moeller was a 1949 graduate of Greensburg High School and was named to the Indiana High School All-Star Basketball team in 1949. He attended Butler University, played football for the Bulldogs and was a member of the Alpha Lambda Chi fraternity.
John retired from the Greensburg Post Office as a rural route carrier after 30 years of service in 1986. Together John and Marilyn started Moeller Homes and oversaw the construction of many homes in the area. They were also the founding owners and operators of J & M Storage Units in Greensburg.
He was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus for 50 years and the Sons of American Legion.
Funeral services are being held today, Thursday, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg with Msgr. Harold Knueven officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Mary's School Building Fund or to the Greensburg Cheer Fund. Martha L. Adkins
Martha L. Adkins, 95, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010. She was born on July 7, 1915 on a small farm in Ripley County, the daughter of Zoe and Irvin Buchanan. She married Howard Adkins and he preceded her in death in 1975.
She is survived by daughter, Wanda Osborne; granddaughter, Victoria (Bill) Knorr; and great grandson, Max. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Leon and Ruth, and second husband Ray Ripley, whom she married in 1984.
Mrs. Adkins retired from the Indiana School for the Deaf after 25 years of service. She was named honorary member of Delta Zeta Sorority.
Visitation is being held today, Thursday, from 4-7 p.m. at the Flanner & Buchanan Broad Ripple Funeral Center, with services immediately following. Burial will be on Friday, at 1 p.m. in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles.

Verna Mae
Schwagmeier

Verna Mae Schwagmeier, 76, of Benham passed away Monday, December 13, 2010 at the home of her daughter near Versailles. She was born near Cross Plains on August 22, 1934, the daughter of Roy and Naomi Bliton Poling. She was married to Robert Schwagmeier on August 27, 1951 and he preceded her in death on December 15, 1999.
Survivors include two sons Robert Schwagmeier, Jr. and Bill (Tammy) Schwagmeier both of Ver-sailles; three daughters Bar-bara (Bob) Smith of Os-good, Brenda Sanders and her companion John Cornett of Versailles, and Becky (Rodney) Stratton of Holton; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; five brothers Bill (Kitty) Poling of Madison, Max (Joyce) Poling and Jim (Carol) Poling both of Ca-naan, Joe Poling of Florida, and Doug Poling of Jeffersonville; one sister Kay Smith of Bennington; sister-in-law Carolyn Poling of Butlerville; brother-in-law Jack Baugh of Ver-sailles. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Jean Harlow and Audrey Baugh; her brother Richard Poling, and an in-fant sister and brother, and two infant grandsons.
Mrs. Schwagmeier retired as supervisor of housekeeping at Mus-catatuck. She had also worked for the Buchanans and Werners in their store at Benham and sold Tupper-ware. Verna Mae was a member of the Benham United Methodist Church and the Benham Blue Bells Home Ec Club.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 17 at 11 a.m. at the Benham United Methodist Church with Pastor Gary Case offi-ciating. Burial will be in the Benham Cemetery. Visita-tion is being held today, Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Fu-neral Home in Versailles and from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Benham Cemetery in care of the fu-neral home.

Frank Somers
Martin, Sr.

Frank Somers Martin, Sr., 90, of Lawrenceburg, passed away Monday, De-cember 13, 2010 at Dearborn County Hospital. He was born June 17, 1920, in Philadelphia, PA, the son of James Thornly Martin and Lucille Bullock. He married Cora E. Hardman in 1945 and she preceded him in death in 1995.
He is survived by five children: Frank Martin, Jr. (Sandi) of Greendale, Dick Martin of Lawrenceburg, Cathy Leonard of Dallas, TX, Sherry Kathman (Rick) of Lawrenceburg and David Martin (Jacque) of New Hampshire; ten grandchil-dren and five great grand-children. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers and one sister.
Mr. Martin joined the US Army/Air Corps in 1941 and served in WWII in the Battle of Normandy and in the 10th Air Depot Group, returning home in 1945. He sold farm machinery for New Holland for many years and then sold advertising specialties.
Frank was a member of 1st Church of Christ, Bur-lington, KY, the Aurora American Legion Post 231, Aurora Lions Club and Aurora Masonic Lodge. He was a former Grand Mar-shall for the Aurora State Fair and received the 1st brick for the new walkway at Lesko Park. He coached Pee Wee football and was a member of the NRA.
A graveside committal service is being held today, Thursday, at 1:30 p.m. at Riverview Cemetery in Aurora, with full military rites provided by the Aurora American Legion Post 231. A memorial service will start at 4 p.m., Thursday, at 1st Church of Christ in Bur-lington, located at: 6080 Camp Ernst Rd, Burlington, KY, with Pastor Brian Heckber officiating. Memo-rials may be given to the veterans or the American Legion Post 231 in Aurora.

Jean Fugate
Jean Fugate, 74, of Osgood, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Dearborn County Hospital. She was born at Brooksburg on February 20, 1936, the daughter of Glenford and Jeanette Clemens Nisonger Imel. She was married to Herbert Fugate on March 20, 1964, and he preceded her in death on September 5, 2003.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas (Betty) Stroud of Fulton and Steven Stroud and friend Regina Caldwell of Osgood; two daughters, Deborah Stroud of Osgood and Brenda (William) Messer of Osgood; 11 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; one brother, Ernie (Paulette) Yocum of Youngstown, OH; three sisters, Phyllis (Jim) Stratham of El Paso, TX, Linda (Wendell) Perry and Carol (Donald) Himes, both of Hommossa, FL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Janice Mack, and brother Carrol Imel.
Mrs. Fugate was a former employee of US Shoe in Osgood and along with her husband had operated VJ Trucking. She and her son, Steven, had also operated S & J Tropical Variety Store in Pierceville. She dedicated her life to helping others including running not for profit bingos for charity including Rescue 69 and CB Helping Hands in Milan of which she was a member.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Charles Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Grandview Memorial Garden at Madison. Visitation will be Friday, from 5-8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Fishes and Loaves Food Pantry in care of the funeral home.

Lorraine E. Cutter
Lorraine E. Cutter, 91, of Dillsboro, passed away Monday, December 6, 2010 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. She was born March 21, 1919 in Ripley County the daughter of Edwin Vinup and Grace Liggett Vinup. She married Ralph W. Cutter in 1938 and they farmed northwest of Dillsboro.
Two sons, Kenneth W. Cutter and friend Yvonne Ritchie of Burney and Thomas W. (Shana) Cutter of North Vernon; five grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren survive her. Her husband and two brothers, Ralph and Paul Vinup preceded her in death.
Mrs. Cutter worked at Seagram’s and the Dillsboro Drug Store for many years. She had been a long time member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Olean and was a member of the Seagram’s Retirees Group.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 9 from 5-8 p.m. at Filter-DeVries Funeral Home, Dillsboro. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 10 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Olean with Rev. James Culver officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Olean.
Memorials may be given to St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Elwanda K. Hollingsworth
Elwanda K. Hollingsworth, 59, of Milan passed away Monday, December 6, 2010 at her home. She was born at Mi-lan on March 17, 1951 the daughter of Virgil and Bea-trice Thomas Hollingsworth.
Survivors include her daughter Jessica Hollingsworth and her hus-band Wesley Moyer of New Port Richey, Florida; grand-son Warren Moyer; two sisters Dephane (Alec) Smith of Milan and Loraine Furlow of Osgood. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert Hollingsworth and her sister Betty Meinders.
Elwanda was a 1969 graduate of Milan High School and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Stumpke’s Cor-ner. She was a former em-ployee of the Milan Furni-ture Factory, Romweber Furniture and the Union Furniture Company in Batesville. She retired from Seagram’s as a line inspec-tor. She was also a member of the Milan American Le-gion Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 9 at 5 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Ron Haseley officiating. Burial will be in the Craven Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 p.m. until time of services with the Milan American Legion Auxiliary conducting serv-ices at 4:45 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer So-ciety or the Milan American Legion Auxiliary in care of the funeral home.

Charles Robert Harmon
Charles Robert Harmon, 88, of Osgood, passed away Monday, December 6, 2010 at Morning Breeze in Greensburg. He was born February 28, 1922 the son of Michael Joseph and Emma Jacobs Harmon. He married Velma Pratt on June 10, 1995 and she survives.
Survivors include stepdaughter, Chris and husband Donald Wright of Osgood; one brother, Richard Harmon of Conneaut Lake, PA; two step granddaughters, Kyrstle and husband Joshua Smith of Greensburg and Stephanie Wright of Osgood and several nieces and nephews.
Five brothers, John, Bernard, Thomas, Frances and William Harmon; two sisters, Ellen Harmon and Mary Barlow preceded him in death.
Mr. Harmon was a past employee of Cyclone Fence in Greensburg and had worked for HUD in construction as a contractor for approximately 30 years. He had also attended the St. Mary’s Church of Greensburg.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, December 10 at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg.

Struckman

Renamae Struckman, 63, of Milan, passed away Monday, December 6, 2010 at the University Hospital in Cincinnati. She was born in Amory, Wisconsin on January 22, 1947, the daughter of Howard and Loretta Weston Johnson.
She is survived by four sons, Richard (Amanda) Struckman of Milan, John (Lydia) and Mike Struckman both of Osgood and David (Jessica) Struckman of Versailles, 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild; and one sister, Bonnie Maypark of Dresser, Wisconsin.
Renamae was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 10 at 11 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Harris Long of the First Baptist Church in Milan officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison. Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
