Burdella Eleanora Brancamp
Burdella Eleanora Brancamp, age 81, of Greensburg, passed away January 21, 2011 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She was born in Ripley County, on June 28, 1929 the daughter of Wm. G. and Mary C. Brunner Wagner. She married Frank H. Brancamp on June 17, 1954 and he preceded her in death May 10, 2007.
Survivors include son, Tim (Julie) Brancamp of Napoleon; daughter, Barbara Springman of Shelbyville; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and brothers, Richard and Wm. Wagner both of Osgood She was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Maurice, Donald and Cletus Wagner; and one sister, Wilma Peetz.
Mrs. Brancamp was a member of the St. Maurice Catholic Church of Napoleon, and a past member of the Napoleon VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Funeral services are being held today, Tuesday, at 10 a.m. at St. Maurice Catholic Church, Napoleon, with burial in the church cemetery. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice. Arrangements are being handled by Neal's Funeral Home, Osgood.

Glenn E. Swingle
Glenn E. Swingle, 73, of Versailles, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville. He was born at Batesville on July 2, 1936, the son of Harry and Viola Barth Swingle. He was married to Nancy Carson Howard on May 28, 1983 and she survives.
Other survivors include three stepsons, Gale (Sandy) Howard and Johnny Howard both of Versailles, and Branch (Victoria) Howard of Dayton, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and one brother, Arthur (Partha) Swingle of Versailles. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Swingle was a 1954 graduate of Cross Plains High School. He was a self-employed contractor and had worked as a custodian for the Indiana State Police Post in Versailles. Glenn was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Olean.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 24 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastor James Culver officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Church or cemetery in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles.

George Desmond "Deck" Lovelace
George Desmond "Deck" Lovelace, 90, of Moores Hill, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011. Funeral services are being held today, Tuesday, at 12 noon at Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home, Moores Hill with burial following at the Forest Hill Cemetery, Moores Hill. Military rites at graveside provided by Moores Hill American Legion. Visitation will also be Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the funeral home. G. Michael Palmer
G. Michael Palmer, 62, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011. He was born July 1, 1948, in Milan, the son of the late Warren and Carolee (Laswell) Palmer, who survives. He married Dianne M. (Schwedler) Palmer and she survives.
Other survivors include children, Jason, Steven, and G. Michael Palmer, Jr., Kari Beth (Gene) Snyder, Melissa (Patrick) Schwartz, Elizabeth Marie (Cody) Richael, Norma Umana-Palmer and Teri Hedemark; grandchildren, Tessa Hedemark, Alexandria Hedemark, Evan Hedemark, Brady Snyder, Christian Schwartz, Riley Schwedler, Nathan Snyder, Whitney Schwedler, Ella Snyder, Chase Caccavale and Yahir Garcia; sisters, Toni Burkhart of Lily, KY, and Sheryl Uffleman of Eugene, OR. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Palmer.
Mr. Palmer worked as a maintenance supervisor with AIMCO. He was a member of Brookville Rd. Community Church, the VFW Post (Scott Co.) and served as past treasurer, the Vietnam Veterans Post #1, and the Moose Lodge in Noblesville.

Myrt Moody
Myrt Moody, 83, of Batesville, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011 at her home. She was born September 10, 1927 in Lawrenceburg, the daughter of Doris (Hoffman) and Earl Mondary. She married William Moody on January 24, 1946 in Newport, KY, and he preceded her in death on April 29, 2006.
Survivors include daughters, Donna Ruggles of Milan, and Chris Vogelsang of Batesville; brother, Raymond Mondary of California; eight grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Deb Harrington, sister Jean Lewis, and brothers Billy, Frankie and Victor Mondary.
Mrs. Moody worked as a sales clerk for Blanks Pharmacy for nearly 20 years before retiring.
Visitation is being held today, Tuesday, from 4-7 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, Batesville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 26, at St. Louis Church with Rev. Jerry Lee Andrew Peetz
Jerry Lee Andrew Peetz, age 74, of Batesville, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Batesville. He was born July 27, 1936 at Napoleon, the son of Milton J. and Ethel Crowell Peetz. He married Ruth Ann Biddle and she survives at home.
Other survivors include sons, Greg (Wendy) Adams of Batesville, Jeff (Penney) Adams of Greensburg, Brian Adams and special friend Donna Taulbee of Sunman, Scott (Shannon) Peetz of Versailles, and Sgt. Dusty Peetz of San Diego, CA; brothers, James Milt Peetz of Napoleon, Thomas Peetz of Batesville, John "Pink' Peetz of Napoleon, Danny Brunner of Napoleon; sisters, Susan White of Osgood, Charlotte Vanover of Batesville; and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by stepfather Charles Brunner, his sister, Debbie Sloan and brother Bob Peetz and an infant brother.
Mr. Peetz had been a truck driver for Batesville Casket Company for 43 years, from 1963 until 2006 upon retirement, then continued to work part time for Batesville. He was an Army Veteran and a member of St. John 's Lutheran Church, Napoleon.
Visitation is being held today, Tuesday, from 5-8 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Napoleon. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 26, at 10 a.m. at the church. Donald L. Emerson
Donald L. Emerson, 78, of Milan, passed away Monday, January 17, 2011. He married Darlene (Smith) Emerson, and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include daughter, Norma Jean (Paul) Tranquill; grandchildren, Christopher (Jill), Timothy (Lisa) and Patrick Tranquill; great grandchild, Eva Tranquill; brother, John Tranquill; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother, Pete and sister, Wilma Emerson.
Mr. Emerson was a member of F&AM Kilwinning Lodge #356.
Funeral services were held at the convenience of the family at Hodapp Funeral Home, Cincinnati, Ohio, who was in charge of arrangements.

Marguerite Maureen Thackery Walker
Marguerite Maureen Thackery Walker, 99 years of Batesville, passed away on January 24, 2011 at Crown Point Senior Living Center in Greensburg. She married Owen Walker and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three children, Frank (Margot) Walker of New Hampshire, Wesley (Judy) Walker of Batesville and Vergie (John) Sharp of New Point; grandchildren, Fern (John) Baumer of Batesville, Andrew (Jessica) Walker of New York, Annette Martin of Florida, Tammie Wonning of Florida, Bradley (Becky) Walker of Kentucky, and Wendy (Brian) Blank of Washington State; 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Logan and Virginia (Steele) Thackery, infant son Chestley Walker, siblings Benjamin, Harley and Louise Thackery.
Mrs. Walker was raised in the New Point area and moved to Cameron, MO, her senior year and graduated from Cameron, MO High School in 1930 and Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis in 1935. She was a registered nurse and served as Director of Nursing at Margaret Mary Hospital. She was an honorary board member of the Ripley County Red Cross and an active member of the Batesville United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 26, from 4-8 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, with O.E.S. services at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Margaret H. Kelly
Margaret H. Kelly, 70, of Holton passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was born in Cincinnati on August 4, 1940 the daughter of Ben and Elizabeth Zengerling Wenker. She was married to Dr. Joseph Kelly on June 8, 1968 and he survives.
Other survivors include three brothers, Don (Susan) Wenker and Paul (Joyce) Wenker both of Cincinnati and Herman (Nancy) Wenker of Holton; two sisters, Joan (Al) Heyson of Blue Ash, Ohio and Elizabeth Wenker of Cincinnati.
Mrs. Kelly was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Osgood. She received her BS degree from St. Mary’s of the Woods in Columbus, Ohio and served as a dietetic intern at St. Louis University. Margaret worked as a registered dietitian in St. Louis and Chicago and also managed her husband’s medical office.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 27 at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church with Father Shaun Whittington officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rosary services at 6:30 p.m. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.

Florine Bertha Wagner Downs
Florine Bertha Wagner Downs, 84 of Hanover and formerly of Osgood, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Hanover Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on March 3, 1926 in Osgood, the daughter of the late Robert Charles and Edith Mary Huskil Wagner. She married Willy "Bill" Downs on January 28, 1984 and he preceded her in death in 1987.
Survivors include daughter, Connie Holt of Versailles; two grandchildren, Brandy Cox and Shawn Dilk; four great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one niece, and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant brother Charles, and a twin sister, Martha Dorine Fruchtnicht.
Mrs. Downs had been employed by Textron in Greensburg where she retired after 15 years of employment.
A funeral service was held on Monday, January 17, at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood. Burial was at Tanglewood Cemetery near Versailles. Neal’s Funeral Home, Osgood was in charge of arrangements.

Mollie K. Sneed
Mollie K. Sneed, of Dillsboro, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. She was born April 15, 1915 in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky. She was married to Jerry H. Sneed in 1937 and he preceded her in death on November 5, 1977.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law; Louis N. Sneed (wife Jean) and David W. Sneed (wife Delilah), both of Dillsboro; granddaughter, Chris Dittmer (husband Troy); one great grandchild, Logan Dittmer; granddaughter, Andrea Bornino (husband Brian) and one grandson, Nathan W. Sneed; and many other family members and friends.
Mrs. Sneed was a member of First Baptist Church in Dillsboro. She was saved at the Washington Baptist Church in 1950, and taught at the church for thirty years. In 1932 she began working at Deaconess Hospital in Cincinnati, OH, and worked there six years in the operating room as a circulating nurse.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 17, 2011 at Filter-DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro. Memorial contributions in her memory may be given to First Baptist Church in Dillsboro. Filter-DeVries Funeral Home, Dillsboro, was in charge of arrangements.

Marie A. Jessee, 52, of Osgood, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2011, at her home. She was born in Cincinnati, OH, on August 17, 1958, the daughter of John and Dorothy Houck Voll and was raised by her aunt Theresa Sartin.
Survivors include her companion Bruce Bates; four sons, George Jessee, II of Willis, TX, John Jessee of Sunman, Josh Jessee and Terry Jessee, both of Osgood; two daughters, Summer Voll and her companion Michael Taylor, II and Jessica Copeland, all of Cross Plains; 20 grandchildren; five sisters, Patty Edwards, Mary West, Jackie Quackameyer, Debbie Lynn Spurlock, all of Cincinnati, OH, and Judy Voll of CT; three brothers, John Voll, Jr., Mark Anthony Voll and William Joseph Voll, all of Cincinnati, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents and her aunt Theresa Sartin.
Mrs. Jessee was a homemaker.

Mildred Newhart
Mildred Newhart, 95, of Osgood passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. She was born near Dabney on December 6, 1915 the daughter of Guy and Katherine Fletcher Smith. She was married to Eldon Newhart on June 30, 1934 and he preceded her in death on October 28, 1985.
Survivors include one daughter Pat (Wayne) Asche of Versailles; two grandchildren Rick (Karen) Turner of Beaver Creek, Ohio and Mandy (Matt) Collins of Osgood; three great-grandchildren and one step-great-great grandson; two sisters Ethel Anderson of Milan and Florence McAlister of Lawrenceburg: several nieces and nephews including Gary Anderson of Milan. Mrs. Newhart was also preceded in death by her parents, her son Eldon, and her brother Ernest Smith.
Mildred was a 78-year member of the Dabney Baptist Church and attended the Dabney School. She was a homemaker and served as a volunteer at Buckeye Village in Osgood where she was a former resident.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 9 at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Bro. Irvin Hart and Rev. Charles Miller officiating. Pansy M. Green
Pansy M. Green (nee Downey, Brashear), of Dillsboro passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the age of 81. She is survived by her husband, John (Jack) Green.
Other survivors include son, Wayne Downey (Lisa); daughter, Dee Dee Schnetzer (Tim); grandchildren, Chris Downey (Jill), Leslie Downey, Taulbi Schnetzer, Owen Schnetzer; sister, Orga Hillman; stepchildren, John Green Jr., Wanda Martin, Kathy Baxter, Donald Green, and Lisa Mobley; and many nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Melody G. Arney

Melody G. Arney, 60, of Versailles passed away Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison. She was born at Madison on November 23, 1950, the daughter of Gayle and Joan Daily Geisler. She was married to Jim Arney on April 17, 1971 and he survives.
Other survivors include her mother Mrs. Joan Geisler of Versailles; two sons Steve (Cassandra) Arney of Versailles and Bill (Susan) Arney of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren Megan, Kendall, and Abby; one sister Lynn (Charles) Baurley of Versailles. She was preceded in death by her father.
Melody was a 1968 graduate of South Ripley High School. She was a Program Technician for the Ripley County Farm Service Agency in Versailles and was a former employee of the Bank of Versailles and Berry Materials.
Funeral services are being held today, Tuesday, at 11 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. James Byerly of the Tyson United Methodist Church officiating. Edward Reynolds, 84, of Osgood, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Batesville. He was born January 26, 1926 in Osgood, the son of Lee Roy and Josephine Baker Reynolds. He married Marcella Hess on June 22, 1946 and she survives at home.
Other survivors include sons, Jim Reynolds of Osgood, Ronald Reynolds of Greensburg; daughter, Brenda Tunny of Greensburg; six grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Reynolds; four sisters, Pat Radke, Edith Reuter, Alberta McClain and Peggy Slayback.

Geneva Busching Michaelis
Geneva Busching Michaelis, 99, of Seminole, FL, passed away Monday, January 3, 2011.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund A. Michaelis. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Martha Michaelis; and her grandchildren, Matthew A. Michaelis and Sarah Michaelis-Jones and her husband Philip Jones.
A celebration of her life will take place on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Tyson United Methodist Church in Versailles, at 3 p.m.

Phyllis L. Utter
Phyllis L. Utter, 80, of Dillsboro, passed away Friday, January 7, 2011 at Dearborn County Hospital. She was born on September 29, 1930 in Nebraska, Indiana, the daughter of Robert Struben and Flora Lienhoop Struben. She married Norman Utter, who passed away on March 12, 2009.
Survivors include three children; Randy Utter of Dillsboro, Linda (Robert) Goshert of Indianapolis and Andrea (Ron) Nappier of Dillsboro; three grandchildren, Jennifer Nappier, Lora Nappier, and Jessica Goshert; one brother, Fred Struben, and one sister, Kathleen Kiser, both of North Vernon. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, Charles and Robert Struben, and her grandson, Nickolas Nappier.
Mrs. Utter graduated from Butlerville High School and began working in production at Seagram’s. She worked there for 45 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Dillsboro United Methodist Church for several years.

Valerie Sue Benham
Valerie Sue Benham, 61, of Osgood passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011 at her home. She was born December 18, 1949 in Charleston, WV, the daughter of Robert Edward and Virginia Mae Pittman Newman. She married David Wayne Benham November 4, 1968 and he survives at home.
Other survivors include father, Robert Edward Newman of Osgood; sons, David John and Robert Wm. Benham both of Versailles; daughters, Virginia Ruth "Ginger" Chapman of Osgood and Vanessa Marie Cupp of Versailles; brothers, Melvin Newman of Whitestown, Sidney Newman of Indianapolis; sister, Joyce Greene of Osgood; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Benham had attended Cedar Creek Community Church near Osgood. She had worked 14 years at the US Shoe Factory in Osgood.

Mary Geneva Coyle
Mary "Geneva" Coyle age 91, of Osgood, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She was born March 2, 1919 in Hamilton, OH, the daughter of George Dewey and Ruth Allen Coyle.
Survivors include brother: George Coyle of Osgood; sister: Mildred Elizabeth Black of Hamilton, OH; grandson: Dain Tirey of Trenton, OH; one grandchild; two great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews survive. One daughter, Gloria Jean Tirey preceded her in death.
Geneva had attended the Senior Citizens Center in Versailles. She had attended Mud Pike Baptist Church near Osgood. She had lived with her brother George Coyle and his late wife, Jo Coyle since 1980 and had just recently became a resident of the Manderley Health Care Center.

Christopher Kendall Hough

Christopher Kendall Hough, 45, of Moores Hill, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011, at Geisinger Memorial Hospital in Danville, Pennsylvania. He was born January 10, 1965 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of James E. and the late Valeska (Val) Runge Hough.
Survivors include daughter, Gabrielle Thomas of Erlanger, KY; father, James E. Hough of Moores Hill; brother, Jerome K. Hough of Moores Hill; and nephew James Thol Hough of Moores Hill.
Mr. Hough was a National Merit Scholar at Colerain High School and attended Miami University, Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati. He worked as a long distance truck driver for Falcon Transportation in Youngstown, Ohio.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home, Moores Hill is handling arrangements.

Eloise Vernon Thornton
Eloise Vernon Thornton, 80, of Madison, formerly of Switzerland County, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Hickory Creek of Madison. She was born on April 2, 1930, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Dale and Elva Roberts Vernon. She married her husband of 62 years, Harold Alton Thornton on April 24, 1948 in Brooksburg, and he survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Karen (James) Hayes of Phoenix, AZ, and Cheryl (Barry) Valentine of Vevay; one son, Daryl (Terri) Thornton of Austin; one brother, Estel Vernon and companion, Mary Shaw of Hanover; five grandchildren; three step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, half brother, Basil Roberts; sister, Evangeline Palmer; and sister-in-law, Mary Vernon.
Mrs. Thornton was raised in Jefferson County and was a 1948 graduate of Central High School. Eloise and Harold enjoyed farming together in Switzerland County for many years. She also worked for 43 years as a topstitcher for the U.S. Shoe Corporation in Vevay, retiring in 1993. They moved near Madison in 1991 and after retirement she became a greeter at the Madison Wal-Mart for eight years. She was a member of the Brushy Fork Baptist Church near Pleasant for many years and then became a member of the Ryker’s Ridge Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 31 at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, Madison, with Dr. Paul Brewster officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Chad K. Valentine Memorial Fund. Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, Madison, was in charge of arrangements.

Avis Cox
Avis Cox, 88, of Osgood passed away Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown. She was born at Whitesburg in Letcher County, Kentucky on October 28, 1922 the daughter of George and Caney Ingram Cornett. She was married to Monroe Cox on February 28, 1939 and he preceded her in death on October 23, 1996.
Survivors include one daughter Shirley Hamilton of Brownstown; two sons Frank (Blanche) Cox of Osgood and Donald (Jane) Cox of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her son Jesse, her brothers Elmer Cornett and Gillias Cornett, and her sister Josie Jones.
Mrs. Cox was a homemaker and a member of the Eastern Star and the Osgood Jolly Circle Homemakers Club.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 3 at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home with Rev. A. J. Poulton officiating. Burial was in the Holton Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Holton Cemetery in care of the funeral home.

Janice L. Laswell
Janice L. Laswell, 72, of Versailles passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at her home. She was born at Milan on May 14, 1938 the daughter of Harry and Edna Poppenhaus Graves. She was married to Gerald Laswell on June 23, 1957 and he survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Larry (Elaine) Laswell and Terry (Sherry) Laswell both of Osgood; one daughter, Sherri (Kevin) Comer of the Hopewell community; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Laswell was a 1955 graduate of Osgood High School and a 1956 graduate of the Indiana Central Business College in Indianapolis. She was the Food Service Director for South Ripley Schools for 25 years and also worked as the bookstore manager and was a secretary to the Superintendent. Janice was a member of the Shelby Christian Church, the Versailles Eastern Star, and the Delta Rho Chapter of Tri-Kappa.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 3 at the Shelby Christian Church with Randy Thieman officiating. Burial was in the Grandview Memorial Garden near Madison. Memorials may be given to the Shelby Christian Church in care of Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles.

Joyce (Spurlock) Robinson
Joyce (Spurlock) Robinson, 43, of Winchester, Ohio, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010 at her home. She was born November 3, 1967, at Batesville, the daughter of Elmer and Bernice (Eldridge) Spurlock.
Survivors include her parents, daughter, Jessica (James) Calhoun of Riverside, Ohio; granddaughter, Aubrey Calhoun; step granddaughter, Lauran Calhoun; sisters, Wanda Stanley of Aurora, Ellen Spurlock of Osgood, Sharon Blair of Madison and Pam Hunter of Osgood; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Joyce was a former employee of Home Helpers of Batesville.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 3, at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan, with burial in the New Craven Cemetery at Milan. Memorials may be given to the family. Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan, was in charge of arrangements.

Barbara Ann Mosmeier
Barbara Ann Mosmeier, 74, of Sunman, passed away Friday, December 31, 2010. Funeral services were held Monday, January 3, at St. John’s United Church of Christ, Penntown with burial in the church cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Sunman Life Squad or to Sunman Volunteer Fire Department. Cook Funeral Home, Sunman, assisted the family with arrangements.

Margaret E. Walke
Margaret E. Walke, 96, of Batesville, passed away Friday, December 24, 2010. Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 29, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville with burial in the church cemetery. Memorials may be given to the VFW Relief Fund and St. Louis Tuition Angels. Weigel Funeral Home, Batesville was in charge of arrangements.

Bart E. Salyer
Bart E. Salyer, 54, of Osgood, passed away Friday, December 31, 2010, south of Batesville. He was born May 1, 1956 in Whitesburg, KY, the son of Noah Edward and Charma Gay (Pace) Salyer. He married Kathy Smith Ellison on July 26, 2003 and she survives.
Other survivors include sons, Michael and Bryan Salyer, Jeremy (Tiffany) Ellison and Logan Gerwe; daughters, Kristen Salyer, Jennie Schrank, and Casey (Wes) Schmaltz; mother, Charma Salyer; brothers, Chris (Jennifer) Salyer, Kenny (Nancy) Salyer, Paul Salyer and Jon Salyer; sister, Melissa Salyer; six grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Mr. Salyer was an employee of Batesville Casket Co. and a member of the Pierceville United Methodist Church where he was a trustee and song leader.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 5, at 11 a.m. at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan, with Pastor Jack Bible officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Baptist Cemetery at Elrod. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today, Tuesday, at the funeral home.
