Charges of Child Molest, Class A Felony, have been filed against Darryl E. Simpson of Versailles.

Court records indicate that the charge goes back to October of 2010 when Versailles police officers, Marshal Joe Mann and Deputy Marshal Lee Mathews investigated an allegation of child molesting that involved Simpson.

A search of the residence where Simpson was living was initiated by the officers with several samples of evidence sent to the Indiana State Police laboratory.

The results of the DNA testing have resulted in the formal charge of Child Molest filed in Ripley County Circuit Court on February 15.
