                  C. Whitehead
                  Charles C. Whitehead, 76, of Westport died unexpectedly on Friday, 
                  February 11, 2011 at the emergency room of Dearborn County Hospital 
                  in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. 
                  He was born on December 27, 1934 in North Vernon, Indiana to 
                  George Dale and Doris Juanita (Taskey) Whitehead. 
                  Charles has been a Westport area resident since 1968. He had 
                  retired in 1985 from Cummins Engine Co. after 35 years of service. 
                  Following retirement from Cummins he served the Town of Westport 
                  as marshal for 10 years. He also was the owner and operator 
                  of Westport Locksmith Service. 
                  He graduated from North Vernon High School in 1953. He was a 
                  13 year member of the Westport Community Volunteer Fire Department. 
                  He served 5 years as fire chief, 6 years as assistant chief, 
                  was a fire and arson investigator and currently served as the 
                  vice president on the board of directors. 
                  He also was a fire instructor for Decatur County Fire Academy. 
                  Member and past board member of the Westport Area Business Association. 
                  He was the coordinator for the Westport Severe Weather operation. 
                  He received the Greensburg Area Chamber of Commerce Community 
                  Service Award in March 1987. And was a member of the Fraternal 
                  Order of Police. 
                  He retired from the Indiana National Guard in 1986 after 33 
                  years of service. He was a member of Company B, 1st Bn., 151st 
                  Infantry, 38th Infantry Division located at Scottsburg and North 
                  Vernon. He also retired from the Indiana National Guard Reserves 
                  with the rank of Major. He enjoyed golfing, having breakfast 
                  and coffee with his buddies at Sues, spending time with 
                  his family, fishing, roller skating, computer technology and 
                  electronics. 
                  He married Patsy R. Gray in North Vernon, Indiana on November 
                  24, 1954. She survives along with his daughters, Rebecca (Robert) 
                  Low of Versailles and Roberta (Mark) Taylor of Westport; his 
                  brother, George Whitehead, Jr. of Clarksville; 7 grandchildren 
                  and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 
                  brother, James J. Whitehead and sister, Helen Wilds. In following 
                  with his wishes, he will be cremated. 
                  There will be no public visitation and no service. Online condolences

                  Janet M. Bowers
                  Janet M. Bowers, 61, of Versailles, passed away Wednesday, February 
                  16, 2011. A memorial service will be held at the Bass & 
                  Gasper Funeral Home, Westport, at 6 p.m. on Friday, February 
                  25. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 
                  time of service. Burial will take place at a later time. Online

                  Polly E. Clark-Painter
                  Polly E. Clark-Painter, 50, of Milan, passed away Monday, February 
                  21, 2011 at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville. Polly was 
                  born on October 10, 1960 in Lawrenceburg, the daughter of Jacob 
                  Clark and Evelene Fields Clark. On November 27, 1993 she was 
                  married to James Painter, who survives.
                  Survivors include son, Jerry (Loren) Adams of Oxford, OH; three 
                  daughters, Angela (John) Amos of Monrovia, Erika Painter, and 
                  Alyson Adams both of Milan; three brothers, James Clark and 
                  Darryl Clark both of Lawrenceburg; and David (Cindy) Clark of 
                  Vevay; one sister and best friend, Pamela (Thomas) Green of 
                  Milan; seven grandchildren, Bradley, Sebastian, Kayla, Leland, 
                  Kirsten, Anthony, and Izabella. 
                  Mrs. Painter graduated from Lawrenceburg High School in 1978. 
                  She coached softball and was a girl scout leader. 
                  Funeral services for Polly will be held Friday, February 25, 
                  at 10:30 a.m. at Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. 
                  Visitation will be today, Thursday, from 5-8 p.m. at the church. 
                  Burial will be at the Greendale Cemetery. Memorials may be given 
                  to the family to help. Arrangements have been entrusted to Filter- 
                  DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro.

                  Shirley M. Elston, 73, of Canaan, passed away Monday, February 
                  14, 2011. Funeral services are being held today, Thursday, at

                  Chester Ray Middleton, 64, of Bennington, passed away Sunday, 
                  February 13, 2011. Funeral services are being held today, Thursday,

                  with burial in the Vevay Cemetery. Memorials may be given to

                  Houston Donald Holland, 84, of Nabb, formerly of Madison and 
                  Canaan, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011. Funeral services will 
                  be held Monday, February 21. 1 p.m. at Morgan & Nay Funeral 
                  Centre, Madison. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery, Dillsboro.

                  A. Thayer
                  Flo A. Thayer, 96, of Dillsboro, passed away Tuesday, February 
                  8, 2011 at the Waters of Dillsboro, Ross Manor. She was born 
                  January 11, 1915 in Madison the daughter of Vernon Ellsworth 
                  Hall and Nellie Land Hall. She married James Oliver Thayer on 
                  August 22, 1933 and he preceded her in death in 1985.
                  Survivors 
                  include four children, Charles (Sandra) Thayer of Aurora, Delmer 
                  (Jeanette) Thayer of Lawrenceburg, Audrey (Earl) Teaney of Aurora, 
                  Vivian (Larry) Elder of Dillsboro; 14 grandchildren; 22 great 
                  grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Nedra 
                  King and Elizabeth Pauline Ramey. Her daughter, Nedra Laverne 
                  Thayer; two grandsons, James Thayer and Harold Teaney; four 
                  brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
                  Mrs. Thayer was a member of the Dillsboro United Methodist Church 
                  and worked several jobs in the area. She worked at the restaurant 
                  at Lake Dilldear, Leintz Food Market, Jewitt Dry Goods, and 
                  Maple Leaf Restaurant. She also worked at the pharmacy under 
                  three different pharmacists.
                  Funeral services will be held Monday, February 14 at 11 a.m. 
                  at the Filter-DeVries Funeral Home, Dillsboro. Burial will follow 
                  in the Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may meet her family at the 
                  funeral home on Monday, February 14 from 9-11 a.m.
                  Memorials may be given in her memory to Oakdale Cemetery in 
                  Dillsboro.
                  
                  Tim Kelly
                  Tim Kelly, 67, of Milan, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011 
                  at his residence. He was born September 19, 1943 in Milan, the 
                  son of William Kelly and Mildred (McKittrick) Kelly Nocks. 
                  He is survived by brother, David Kelly of Milan; sisters, Susie 
                  Williamson of Milan, Darlene Grace of Aurora, Nancy Hershman 
                  of Milan, Brenda Mowrer of Indianapolis and several nephews, 
                  nieces and cousins. A brother Paul (Tug) Schuck preceded him 
                  in death.
                  Mr. Kelly was a US Army veteran having served two terms in Vietnam. 
                  He was a member of the Milan American Legion Post #235 and was 
                  a retired employee of Seagrams Distillery.
                  Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

                  Cinda "Rita" Roy Mulford, 61, of Fort Worth, Texas, 
                  died Thursday, February 3, 2011 in Fort Worth.
                  A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 
                  12 at Harvest Baptist Church in North Vernon with Ceburn Tyler 
                  officiating.

                  Louis Zimmermann
                  Bradley Louis Zimmermann, 46, of Madison, passed away Monday, 
                  January 31, 2011, at the Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg. 
                  He was born on March 31, 1964 in Cincinnati, OH, the son of 
                  LeRoy and Margaret (Laub) Zimmermann. 
                  Survivors include father, LeRoy and stepmother Eleanor Zimmermann 
                  of Milan; mother, Margaret Todd of Harrison, OH; brother, Barton 
                  Zimmermann of Harrison, OH; sister, Kelly (Roger) Head of Moores 
                  Hill; companion, Caroline Norman of Milan; and two nephews and 
                  one niece. 
                  Bradley worked as a welder for Armour Steel Company of Mason, 
                  Ohio.
                  A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 6, at 3 p.m. 
                  at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan, with Father Frank Eckstein 
                  officiating. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday at the 
                  funeral home. Memorials may be given to the St. Judes Childrens

                  Charles Allen Johnson, 84, of Madison, passed away Monday, January 
                  31, 2011. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5,

                  will be in the Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison. Visitation
