Storm hits Ripley County hard!

The area of Olean was hit hard by the storms that came through Ripley County in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 20. Above is an uprooted tree that took out a garage. Below is another residence in the area where a tree was uprooted, landing in front of a house. There were reports of downed trees that closed roads throughout the county early Wednesday morning. Numerous power lines were downed with Barry Lauber of Southeastern REMC reporting 1300 members without power on Wednesday. Duke Energy customers were also without power.

Shown above the courthouse clock cupola was damaged from wind that came through Versailles in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 20. Tornado sirens were sounded, but there were no official reports of tornadic activity in the Versailles area.
