Officers from the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office helped nab a wanted felon on July 26 as reported in The Versailles Republican on July 28.

Tony Ray Campos, 42, of Milan, was taken into custody without any problem after a tip came into the sheriff’s office that he was in the Napoleon area.

Campos was wanted on a warrant out of Dearborn County on charges of Criminal Confinement with a Deadly Weapon, Class B felony; Burglary, Class A felony; Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Class C felony; and Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon, Class C felony.

Campos has been involved in a home invasion and assault at the home of Darrell Cull in Moores Hill earlier in the month of July.

According to court reports, Cull and Campos’ sister, Lisa Campos, 32, also of Milan, had been involved in an argument with some friends at a bar in Aurora on June 12.

Cull and the other friends had left Lisa at the bar.

It was reported that Lisa and her brother, Tony, had gone to the Cull home and unscrewed the light bulb on the front porch.

Cull said he heard a sound at his door. He further stated the light on the porch wouldn’t come on, but he looked out the window and could see Lisa. When he opened the door, he said Lisa stepped back and her brother, Tony, attacked him.

Lisa and Tony allegedly beat Cull and then Tony pulled a gun on him.

Lisa was arrested in Dearborn County where she faces the same charges as her brother.

Both are now incarcerated at the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center.
