Recent drownings in the tri state area led Rescue 69 to host a training session on water rescue and near drowning rescue. A group of 25 rescue workers attended the session last Wednesday, August 10 at the Versailles State Park. Charley Cozart, director at Rescue 69, arranged for the training. Jeremy Simm instructed the classroom part of the evening, and Chris Adams instructed the water rescue demonstrations. Versailles State Park lifeguards assisted Adams with the demonstrations. Once a month Cozart organizes training sessions to keep the departments up to date on rescuing procedures. Every EMS squad in Ripley County was represented at the training.
