Daryl E. Stutler

Daryl E. Stutler, 75, of Milan, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. He was born near Milan on July 7, 1936, the son of Arnold and Laura Elrod Stutler. He was married to Dolly McClure on May 23, 1959 and she survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Jeff (Jeri) Stutler and Chris Stutler both of Milan; granddaughters, Karisa (Brian) Voss, Kayla Stutler, and Kelly Stutler all of Milan; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Braden, Jackson, and Emma Voss; two brothers, Gary (Judy) Stutler of Friendship and Ronald (Janet) Stutler of Versailles; two sisters, Roberta Ashcraft of Milan and Margie (Bud) Stevens of Moores Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Wallace, Merle, and Ernest Stutler.

Mr. Stutler was a 1955 graduate of Milan High School and was a truck driver for Quality Carriers in Indianapolis. He was also a former employee of Thatcher Glass in Lawrenceburg and owned and operated JDS Carton Assembly plants in Saginaw, Michigan and Peoria, Illinois and also owned and operated Stutler Paving in Milan.

Daryl was a member of the Milan Masonic Lodge and the First Southern Baptist Church in Versailles.

Betty Mae Carlson

Betty Mae Carlson, 85, of Milan, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012 at her nephew's house in Sunman. She was born in Milan on April 21, 1926 the daughter of Roy and Myra Hutcheson Stephens. She was married to Stanley Carlson and he preceded her in death on August 30, 2000.

Her daughter Sharleen Knight also preceded Mrs. Carlson in death in 1995. Other survivors include one granddaughter, Kelsey Nylin and Kyra Nylin both of Avon; one brother, Maurice Stephens of Winter Haven, Florida.

Mrs. Carlson was a retired Home Economics teacher for South Ripley School Corporation, where she taught for 30 years. She was a member of the Milan American Legion Post #235 Auxiliary and Milan VFW Auxiliary. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 24 at 2 p.m. at the Milan American Legion. Memorials may be given to the Liver Foundation.

Charlotte Marie Terrican

Charlotte Marie Terrican, 84, of Des Peres, Missouri, died on March 17, 2012 in Philadelphia after a valiant struggle with lung disease.

Beloved wife of Robert Terrican for 62 years, dearest mother to her daughter, Anne (Raymond) Haddad of Berwyn, Pennsylvania and devoted grandmother to her grandchildren Kevin and Kelsey. 

Charlotte was born in New Marion on July 16, 1927 the daughter of Charles and Clara Matz Meierle. She was known to her family as Margaret. She left her home at 18 to work in Indianapolis and was employed by Eli Lilly Company. From there she moved to Los Angeles, CA and then to Northport, NY before settling in the Saint Louis area.

In California, Charlotte became an avid bowler, camper and hiker, and she developed a life-long love for golf.  Charlotte also started a floral design company, De Char, which she sold when her family moved to Long Island in 1971. Upon moving to St. Louis in 1973, Charlotte returned to school and then worked at the Maritz L.L.C. for seven years before retiring. After retiring she added traveling, stitchery and antiquing to her hobbies. Charlotte made many wonderful friends through her hobbies and sports. Charlotte was devoted to her faith and was an active member of St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church.

Besides her husband and daughter she is survived by two brothers Gary (Janet) Meierle of Benham and Harold Meierle of New Marion; her sister Genevieve Pickett of Los Angeles; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Dalbert, Marcee, Charles, and Irvin Meierle, and her sisters Evelyn Meierle, Mary Gigerich, and Ruth Burske.

Jerry McIntosh

Jerry McIntosh, age 59 of Brookville, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital & Health Center in Indianapo-lis. He was born June 15, 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of Verlin and Marcella Shook McIntosh. He mar-ried Helen Colleen Thor-oughman McIntosh on January 6, 1996 and she survives at home. Other survivors include sons, Gregory (Cindy) McIntosh of North Vernon and Benjamin McIntosh of Brookville; daughter, Sami McIntosh of North Vernon; brothers, Verlin Lee (Lisa) McIntosh of Crothersville and Tommy (Pam) McIntosh of Versailles; sisters, Joanne (Frank) Vanosdol of Holton and Marsha Wright of Ver-sailles. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tay-lor and Timmy "Chop" McIntosh and two sisters, Anna McIntosh and Bobbie Jean Steele.
Jerry had worked for Hill-Rom of Batesville, as a machinist and was a marine veteran. He had attended the Versailles Church of Christ. Jerry enjoyed camping, fishing and loved his family and friends. A memorial service was held Monday, March 12, at Neal's Funeral Home, Os-good. Memorials may go to the family in care of the funeral home. James Wm. Owens, age 86, of Osgood, passed away Tuesday, March 13 at his home in Osgood. He was born July 30, 1925 in Rip-ley County, to the parents of Glen and Ethel Goodpaster Owens. He maried Wynema Aldine Van Volkenburgh and she still survives at home. Other survivors includes sons, Dale Owens of Os-good, Dean (Pam) Owens and Rob (Kelli) Owens all of Westport; daughters, Patty (Larry) Grow of Na-poleon, Connie (Michael) Leake of Greensburg and Linda Green of Napoleon; brothers, Joe, John and Charlie Owens all of Os-good and Gene Owens of KY; sisters, Georgie Atkin-son of Elrod and Lou True-blood of Salem; 29 grand-children; many great grand-children; and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Leon Owens and three brothers, Russell, Denny Ray and Rolland Owens; and one sister, Faye Mills.
Mr. Owens was a WWII Navy Veteran and a mem-ber of the Napoleon VFW Keene Henneke Post and the Osgood American Le-gion. He had been a TV repairman for 35 years in Osgood and a past school bus driver for approxi-mately ten years for Jac-Cen-Del school system. He was a past member of the CB Helping Hands of Milan, past Jac-Cen-Del School board member, and past Osgood Town Board member. Jim loved raising his roses, blackberries and also enjoyed watching the birds use the many birdhouse boxes which he had in his yard. He and his wife had loved and enjoyed doing flea marketing over the past ten years. Most of all, he loved his wife, family and his many friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 16 from 5-8 p.m. at Neal's Funeral Home, Osgood. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Perse-verance Cemetery, Osgood. Memorials may be given to the family. Neal's Funeral Home, Osgood, is entrusted with arrangements.

   Victor Armando Hernandez Carranza
Victor Armando Hernandez Carranza, age 27 of Holton, formerly of San Luis Potosi, Mexcio, passed away Friday, March 2, 2012 at his residence in Holton as a result of the tornado.
He was born December 23, 1984 in San Luis Potosi, Mexcio, the son of Angel Hernandez and Catalina Carranza who survive in Mexico.
 Services are being held all in one day, Friday, March 9, at St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood with viewing from 10-10:45 a.m. and funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Huerto de los Olivos, San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
