SRHS to host regional event

Wanda English Burnett
Staff Writer

South Ripley Superintendent Dr. John Mehrle is pleased to announce that South Ripley High School will be the site of the Southeastern EcO15 Talent Showcase this Thursday, October 27 from 4-7 p.m. This event will highlight projects that drive our local economies, according to the superintendent.

“It is an honor for South Ripley to be selected to host this regional event,” Dr. Mehrle told the Osgood Journal. He said the school was selected to host the Showcase due to its central location, new facilities, and because of the project based initiatives that have been implemented in recent years. “South Ripley has made a concerted effort to integrate its fifth through eighth grade curriculum with technology and project based learning,” Dr. Mehrle noted.

It's almost time for Trick-or-Treat!

Kari Moore

It’s that time of year when ghosts, ghouls, and goblins take to the streets and set out for one thing. Don’t worry, they’re not after you, they just want your candy!

According to the Indiana Business Research Center (IBRC) at Indiana University, there was an estimated 1 million potential trick-or-treaters (children between ages 5 and 13) in 2010.

SR 62 in Friendship remains closed

Wanda English Burnett
Editor

The closure of State Road 62 at the east entrance to Friendship has caused quite a stir in the community. It is a hassle for motorists coming into the small town from Dearborn County, and those needing to exit that way.
However, the Indiana Department of Transportation remains firm that repairing the sliding hillside and the road is imperative for the safety of motorists.
